Back to your question. Yes, this guy seems interested. So there are a few reasons he's not doing anything about it. 1. He has a girlfriend already. (possibly it's not a great relationship but she's there.) 2. He's gay. (Which, then maybe he actually does want a girl buddy.) 3. He's shy and not quite sure how to take it to the next level. So Toni, is it possible for you to ask him out? We don't typically recommend this because if a guy asks a woman out then it's pretty clear he's interested. If you ask him out you won't really know if he's being nice or if he really is interested. But at least you'll get the ball rolling. However, if this is uncomfortable for you—and we understand why it could be—then you need to start dropping some hints.
