Facebook has a lot of users, and why not? It’s a great platform that everybody is on, and is a good way to keep in contact with friends and acquaintances. You can share interests or even just what music you’ve been listening to or what movies you’ve been watching. Some online dating sites integrate Facebook functionality for these very reasons.

New dating app, Yoke, is seeking to really utilise Facebook functionality as much as it can. It uses data-sets to suggest connections based on shared music tastes (Spotify), films you’ve seen (Netflix), and just general pages you’ve “liked”. It also shows mutual friends you have that you can ask for introductions.

Potential matches don’t have to have the Yoke app, which is a little bit weird, but also increases the scope of people you could match up with to the millions.

The real benefit is that you know straightaway if you’re trying to hook up with someone who’s interested in the same things as you, which is a key part of a relationship. Chances are if you both like L.A. Noire, Ninja Gaiden 2, The Black Keys, and Wes Anderson’s filmography, then you could get along swimmingly.
